The highly-awaited Season 2 of the musical adult cartoon Hazbin Hotel debuts on Prime Video soon, and fan speculation has been rampant.
The first season presents a diverse group of personalities residing in Hell and Heaven, sets them at odds with songs detailing their conflicts, and establishes heated competitions and emotional bonds that fuel fan obsession.
The fandom's stated hopes for the new season differ greatly, but certain threads emerge over and over: Will a fan-favorite character escape his tormentor? Might we learn more about the binding agreement constraining Alastor the Radio Demon? Might certain characters' relationships evolve?
"Naturally, I don't produce the show with audience demands specifically in mind," the creator commented earlier this year. "However I feel like me being a fan of my own show implies there's a lot of it just inherently. I also want to see these things, and I hope some of these things to occur, and clearly some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"
The creator reveals her big-picture plan is for a five-season run of Hazbin Hotel. Seasons 3 and 4 have received approval by the production companies, which produce the series.
That could imply fans have to be patient for some of the major resolutions — but they could be shocked at how fast season 2 progresses, and how many of what they're waiting for unfolds now.
"I feel like people are going to be highly satisfied," the creator notes. "We get some firsts. I think we receive some really amazing disclosures, some really cool origin tales, and even basic elements, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] We're going to hear much more singing from the characters we didn't get to hear before."
The creator is well-informed of the theories and desires about season 2 — particularly in the form of audience prediction charts.
"I've seen a few fans create a bingo card about season 2," she mentions. "Naturally I can't post it, but I've actually done some of them, and almost all of them have almost a bingo. I thought, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that makes me think we accomplish much [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that makes me happy."
Hazbin Hotel the second season launches on Prime Video on October 29.
